Why did we start making candles?

I was tired of buying expensive candles that smelt great initially but were always disappointing when I lit them. I set out to make candles that have an amazing scent throw. After much trial and error I am thrilled to be able to share them with you!

Today every Essence candle is hand poured in Christchurch, New Zealand with 100% natural soy wax and designed to produce a beautiful fragrance from the first burn to the last.

Minimal Packaging

We have consciously decided to avoid expensive and unnecessary packaging.  Being mindful of our impact on the planet is important to us and has been a big part of that decision.  This is another reason why we are keen to refill your candles for you.  If we are posting products we do take care to wrap them carefully for distribution.
